This Little Piggy.....

Meet Polly, the less than perfect pig.....

I'm taking part in another swap with the Itty Bitty Knitters on Ravelry. This time, the theme is "This Little P...". So yesterday, I dragged out my sewing machine and Polly came into being. The pattern for Polly is taken from Sewn Toy Tales: 12 Fun Characters to Make and Love by Melly and Me. I'm far from being a proficient sewer and this was the first time I've sewn anything 3D like this. Having said that, the step by step instructions in the book were excellent and she actually came out looking like a pig!! She's not perfect, some of the seams are a bit crooked and considering this was my first attempt at darts I think over all everything went well! She even has a very cute curly tail....

The fabric was sent to me by another Itty Bitty Knitter, Diana (grandmabuck on Rav) about a year ago, just because. When I went looking through my stash, I knew this had to be used in someway for my swap parcel. I think it was a perfect piggy pattern and while Polly may not be perfect, who couldn't love this face?

One last thing I wanted to share with you. This is probably the cutest pin cushion, I've ever come across. My brother gave it to me for Christmas and I think it's just perfect. It's just the cutest china cup and saucer, glued together and then the pin cushion is incorporated into the cup! I think it's a great idea.

  1. Love the pincushion! And the piggy is adorable!

  2. I think your piggy is very cute. I just want to give him a great big hug. The pincushion is so clever.
